Head Boy and Head Girl

Harry Morris
Hello, my name is Harry Morris, and I feel incredibly privileged to serve as Head Boy at EDA. I am currently a Year 13 student studying Maths, Physics, and Business, and I hope to continue to university with a focus on Economics, a subject that has always fascinated me and one I hope to turn into a future career.
Looking back on my time at EDA, I can see just how much the school has shaped who I am today. Our mission statement – Hard Work, High Aspirations, Limitless opportunities – isn’t just a motto on the wall; it’s something you see in action every day. For me, it has meant discovering what I’m capable of, whether that’s representing the school at a county level in sports, challenging myself academically with opportunities like the Chemistry Olympiad, or exploring different career paths through work experience. Each experience has helped me grow in confidence, independence, and ambition.
What I value most is the strong sense of community at EDA. Over the years, teachers and staff have encouraged me to achieve my best while supporting me every step of the way. The friendships I’ve made and the experiences I’ve had – whether in the classroom, on the sports field, or even during trips abroad – have all been part of a journey that has prepared me for life beyond school.
Being Head Boy is my way of giving back to the Academy that has given me so much. I want to help ensure that every student has the same opportunities I’ve had: to work hard, aim high, and realise that with the right support, there truly are no limits to what they can achieve.

Emma Silcock
Hello, my name is Emma, and I have the privilege to introduce myself as Head Girl at Erasmus Darwin Academy. I am currently studying English Literature, Geography and Criminology with the aspiration to study an International Relations degree to help me pursue a career in human rights development. This position encourages me to be a positive impact on my community and promote the EDA values.
Our mission statement ‘Hard Work, High Aspirations, Limitless Opportunities’ is embedded into the schools’ culture, helping to shape pupils into determined and resilient members of the public who are always working to better themselves and make a positive impact towards society.
This strapline has encouraged an academic journey full of ambition, dedication, and the incentive to go the extra mile to see how much I can achieve not only in my studies, but how much I can develop as a person. EDA installs the belief in every student that anyone can achieve their best through a nurturing school environment supported by teachers who encourage pupils to unlock those ‘limitless opportunities.’
EDA prides itself on the opportunities it provides with an emphasis on making them accessible to all. During my time at EDA, the school has provided me invaluable life experiences through extra-curricular activities such as the Lichfield Schools Speaking Competition, Duke of Edinburgh and Geography excursions to Italy and the Holderness Coast. I believe this encapsulates how embracing our school is. This role allows me to give back to EDA, after it giving me so much over my years spent here, preparing me for my next chapter.
