At EDA we fully believe that ‘Teacher improvement is teacher driven’ (Tom Sherrington) and that staff should be fully involved in their own development throughout their career. That is why our development of teachers is underpinned by Instructional Coaching and we use Jim Knight’s ‘The impact Cycle’ as inspiration for our coaching cycles.
During our Quality Assurance Cycles, Instructional Coaching is used so that teachers are empowered to make their own decisions about what they want to improve about their lesson. We have completed training with Leaders on how to coach teachers are investing time so that teachers regularly meet with coaches to work on their own teaching and learning targets.
