There are many ways in which parents can get involved with and support staff at Erasmus Darwin Academy.
HOME-ACADEMY AGREEMENT
Parents support the Academy initially by signing the Home-Academy Agreement. In this document, parents commit to supporting the Academy by ensuring that their child arrives on time, with the correct equipment and in full uniform. We agree to support parents with their child’s education and will contact them to inform parents of any key information.
PARENT CONSULTATION EVENINGS
Parents are invited annually to a ‘Parents’ Consultation Evening’, at which they have an opportunity to meet their child’s subject teachers. During this meeting, parents are asked to complete a feedback form on their views on the Academy. The feedback form data indicates very positive feedback. This can be obtained by clicking here (hyperlink) This information is taken very seriously, is analysed closely and is followed up with appropriate action. Parents of Year 7 students should please note that there is an additional evening where you will meet your child’s tutor to ensure that the transition process has been positive and allow you to meet the teacher who will be closest working with your child.
PARENT FORUM GROUP
Erasmus Darwin Academy values the qualitative feedback of parents who are willing to give up their time to discuss specific issues in relation to improving standards at EDA. On a half-termly basis, a cluster of parents meet in the ‘Parent Forum Group; future initiatives are shared, and parents are invited to comment. The contributions made from parents are recorded and used to refine our own policies and procedures.
We are always keen to work with parents who feel able to get involved with Parent Forum meetings and would ask you contact the Academy to express your interest in attending future meetings.
