The site at Erasmus Darwin Academy is put to full community use beyond traditional school operating hours due to the 20+ community groups whom choose to use our well maintained site to host their chosen activity. The Academy is a hive of activity each evening, weekend and school holidays running sessions for referee courses, dance, martial arts, badminton, hockey, football and even knitting groups.

The facilities we hire at EDA are usually the classroom, indoor sports hall & outside pitches all of which are well maintained and meet the standards that we expect for FA delivery which is why we continue use the facility on a regular basis. The booking process is always easy and we have always been well accommodated by staff both before and during any of the bookings we have. Gemma Turner, Staffordshire FA, Football Development Officer, Disability

My Tae Kwon Do club has been using Erasmus Darwin’s facilities since 1998. It is difficult to find a good venue to teach martial arts as the room size, floor, lighting, changing rooms and all year round accessibility have to meet our needs to enable us to do what we do safely. Over the years we have seen many changes for the better at Erasmus Darwin, the new sports building in my opinion is second to none! I visit many schools in the area as my role as ambassador for the Tae Kwon Do Association of Great Britain and see what they have in comparison. There is a member of staff present at all times should an issue arise, the knock on effect is security is tight! The same member of staff maintains all areas of the school ensuring that changing room toilets etc are in good order and the access to the school is always available. Erasmus Darwin’s great central location and facilities are without doubt a reason for the ongoing success of our club. Sean Hardwick, 6th degree Master, Chief Instructor TAGB, TI.

As a local community football team with approximately 500 local members we find the facilities at EDA are key to our existence. The facilities have helped us grow over the last few years and enabled us to expand our club to over 30 teams and 2 football schools. The facility gives parents the peace of mind to know that their children whilst at training or in game at this venue are safe and looked after which benefits the whole community. All our members train and play at cost which allows more children from the local community to take part in activities. The staff go the extra mile to help us and are always very friendly and the facilities are maintained to a very high standard as well as being kept extremely clean.
