This page will provide useful updates and resources for you in preparation for your child’ transition to EDA. The main feature of this page is a copy of the parental presentation delivered remotely by the Senior Team here at the Academy. We hope you find it informative. The PowerPoint which we have used for the session is also attached, as well as a link to the EDA Way.
We will inform parents when new content is uploaded.
Briefing for familiarisation sessions
Please can parents/carers go through the PowerPoint in preparation for visiting the Academy next week. A reminder that a parent/carer/responsible adult must drop off your child from 1:45pm and collect them from 3pm onwards. Any questions, please contact the Academy at admin@eda.staffs.sch.uk
Many thanks for watching the presentation, please find below a collection of useful links including a downloadable copy of the presentation featured in the video.
MY Ed App
We use the My Ed app as the primary method to communicate with our parents. It is a mobile app that will allow you to receive messages and view Academy information in a central location.
- We use the app to send messages and letters to parents.
- Attendance is updated each day to show you an accurate picture of your child’s attendance.
- Achievement and behaviour incidents are updated daily.
- Progress reports will be uploaded to and stored in the app to allow you to easily see your child’s progress.
- Permission forms are also sent via the app to allow digital responses.
The app is free and easily downloaded via the App store on a mobile phone. When you have downloaded the app you will be sent a 4 digit pin code via text. Enter the pin code into the My Ed app, and then search for Erasmus Darwin Academy. To find out more about the app, please take a look at www.myedschoolapp.com.
There are two sections to the app:
- Public information, that is available to all. You will therefore be able to see the Year 7 Transition information.
- Personal/specific information for a particular student. Only people with parental responsibility will be able to view information specific to a student and this is stored under the ‘My Student’s’ section of the app. This information will be available within 24 hours of downloading the app once your child is on roll with us in September.
