The remote learning plan has been written to ensure that there is a continuity of Education in the event of the Academy closure. The plans are adapted to the scenario that we are currently presented with following the announcement on Wednesday 30th January. The information below outlines the remote learning arrangements for those students who are required to work from home as part of the staggered return in January. The staggered return arrangements were communicated by Mr Walklate this morning. We recognise that the plan does not replicate the classroom environment but it does provide students with contact, input and feedback from their Teachers.
All students should follow their timetable remotely on the Microsoft Teams platform. The sessions will include Teacher input alongside opportunities to complete guided tasks. Microsoft Teams is accessible on any device that has internet access and it meets all of the safeguarding requirements. Students can download the ‘Teams’ app onto any mobile device including most mobile phones and tablets. Having provided all year groups with access to the platform, we are confident that students will be able to navigate the platform successfully. Lessons will include 30 minutes input from the Teacher prior to being provided with tasks to allow them to independently apply their knowledge. These application tasks will be the starting point to the following lesson. Students must complete the work in their books or on paper and be prepared to return their completed work when they return to the Academy.
Year 7 – 9: All lessons will be live apart from the practical lessons Art, Music, Drama, PE and Technology. These will provide theory based lessons/ practical activities within the student resources intranet.
Year 10 – 11: All lessons will be live apart from core PE lessons. Alternative practical activities will be provided for students to participate in via the student resources intranet.
