Planning and Preparing work

Dear Families,

The information below outlines what work students are required to complete and how the work can be accessed. We have also added lots of website links which can be useful for a range of subjects. Where possible, students are required to complete work in line with their school timetable. This will ensure students continue to get a balanced curriculum experience. Thank you to all families for your support at this very challenging time. We will maintain communication via our usual channels which includes the app, our website and the Academy Twitter site. We will endeavour to keep you updated as the information is shared from the government.

Students in Year 12 and 13

Teachers will upload work onto Google Classroom. Students can access the work via their chrome books or any other devise that has internet access. Teachers will upload work that is reflective of the curriculum hours missed. Year 13 are instructed to revise for their forthcoming A Level examinations.  All students are aware of how to access Google Classroom.

Year 12 & 13 can communicate to their teachers via their academy Google E-mail accounts.

Students in Year 11

Students are instructed to revise for their forthcoming GCSE examinations. Revision support can be found here: https://www.eda.staffs.sch.uk/year11revision/  Students are to use GCSEpod (link below) to access the key information for all of their GCSE subjects.  #

Students are instructed to watch the pods and use the revision strategies discussed during the tutor programme to prepare useful revision tools.  All students have a login for GCSEpod which they have created.  In addition, students are also advised to revise using a revision strategy that suits them best.  The advised revision strategies, which have been discussed during our tutor programme, can be accessed here:

Students studying Art and Photography need to ensure their boards are presented and annotated by the first day of the exam. Checklists, time plans and tasks to enhance your grade will be available on google classroom.

Students in Year 10

Students are to revise for their forthcoming English Literature GCSE examination. The whole specification can be accessed via GCSEpod (link below). Students should create revision materials which will support their knowledge retention and application. Students should also read for one hour per day.

Students in Year 9

Students are to use GCSEpod (link below) to watch the pods in all topics that they have covered in all subjects. Students should also review their knowledge organisers. They are to summarise the content for revision purposes for their end of year PPEs and produce a revision resource. Students in Years 7 and 8

Using the school Intranet, subject leaders will upload presentations and work to complete (accessing the work is explained below). Students are instructed to read the information in the presentation and select one of the activities below to complete. There might be occasions whereby work is set within the presentation, please complete the work that is set.  If there is work set within the presentation, you do not need to complete one of the tasks below.

• Summarise the presentation into a 1-page fact sheet.
• Answer a set of prescribed questions about the presentation (organised by the subject leader).
• Summarise the information in the presentation and create a mind map of all the key points.
• Summarise the information and create revision flashcards.
• Convert the information into a table of facts.
• Make an alternate presentation using different examples.
• Convert the information into a story.
• Convert the information into a newspaper article.
• Make a glossary of all key terminology within the presentation and define each of the key terms.
