Bus Services 2021/2022
The bus service is operated by P & D York Travel LLP on behalf of the Academy. In order to plan adequate bus numbers, we need to have commitment of the minimum of a term so either termly passes or a discounted annual pass are available, either can be bought as a return, morning or homeward journey type. The service does have capacity restrictions but we have managed to accommodate all requests received by the booking cut-off date in recent years. Each child allocated will then be guaranteed a seat on a named bus. The Academy does not make a profit from offering the bus service, nor do we charge internal costs associated with managing and administering the service. The only factor which affects pricing to parents is the external costs to the academy from the bus contractor.
ORDERING A PASS
Commitment for an annual or termly pass will require a £20 non-refundable deposit made on Wisepay by Wednesday 23rd June 2021 in order to request/book a place for your child. Please choose a stop from the drop down list. If you are aware of a number of other students requiring a pickup not listed, please choose the nearest stop on the drop down list but also suggest an extra stop, where if demand is sufficient, we may be able to accommodate a change in route. The balance of the pass must be received by the end of the first week of each term or the pass will be cancelled. Commitment to whole year pass will require payment of the full balance even if cancelled part year. Commitment to a termly pass is for the whole term and will require full balance of that term even if cancelled part term.
We will send a more detailed letter about timetable and travel expectations at a later date. However, it is important to highlight the following at this point:
-All students will be required to have their own facemask to wear on the bus in (line with public transport requirements)
-All students will need to use their own hand sanitizer as they get on and off the bus.
-All passengers will need to remain facing forwards in a named seat on a named bus
-Where possible, seats will be consolidated, in year groups, as multiple year groups will be on the bus
-Social distancing of 1m+ will not be possible (hence face mask requirement).
