Summary Comment
- The 7-9 national standard is significantly higher than the 2019 national standard due to highly inflated teacher assessed grades in 2021
- Nationally, the percentage of 7-9 grades has decreased compared to 2021 to bring the national standard back in line with 2019
- We are performing at the national standard or better in 8 subjects and within 10% of the national standard in a further 9 subjects

Comparisons are very difficult to make this year due to different starting points being used for the 2019 and 2022 cohorts. The 2019 cohorts used a ‘fine point score’ and the 2022 cohort have used a new measure called ‘scaled scores’. The distribution of our scaled score grades indicates that the 2022 cohort had less HPA students compared to 2019 and a higher number of MPA and LPA students. The methodology used to calculate progress has not yet been released and this will be shared with schools at the data checking exercise in October. Our 2022 Attainment 8 score is in line with 2019 and a 5+ basics measure is the highest we have ever achieved at 62%. |

Performance in English has remained stable compared to 2019 with slightly less students achieving grades 7-9. This will be partly because the number of HPA students in 2022 is significantly less than in 2022. All attainment measures in English are better than the 2022 national standard. |
